Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle both got on the score-sheet as Germany beat Ireland 3-0 to maintain their lead at the top of World Cup Qualifying Group C.
The German’s went ahead early on thanks to a goal from Sami Khedira before Schurrle made it 2-0 with a lovely touch and finish. Ozil then completed the rout late on with a delightful chipped finish to maintain Germany’s five point advantage over second-placed Sweden.
