Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield on Sunday afternoon to move clear at the top of the Premier League.
Spurs were the architects of their own downfall, with Younes Kaboul scoring a calamitous own goal in the second minute before Michael Dawson’s stray pass allowed Luis Suarez to race clear to make it 2-0 midway through the first half.
Further goals from Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson sealed another comfortable victory for the Reds to see them leapfrog Chelsea and go two points clear at the top of the league with six games to go.
After the game, several Liverpool players took to Twitter to react to the win and the likes of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, Simon Mignolet and Glen Johnson were understandably buzzing at reaching the summit as the Merseysiders put themselves in the driving seat to land the title this season.
Winger Raheem Sterling may not have been on the score-sheet, but he was a constant threat and was voted as the Man of the match, and he was keen to show off his prizes.
