Liverpool Make Winger Enquiry As Rodgers Eyes Six New Signings

As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Liverpool are linked with Yannick Bolasie.
Liverpool have contacted Crystal Palace over the availability of winger Yannick Bolasie as Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in six new signings this summer, according to reports.
Bolasie has just come off the back of an excellent season with Palace and he played a key role in the Eagles stunning comeback against Liverpool at Selhurst Park during the penultimate game of the season, which saw Tony Pulis’ men come from three-down to draw 3-3 and derail the Reds title push.
It seems he’s left a lasting impression on Rodgers as the Daily Star are reporting that the Northern Irishman has contacted Palace and made a firm enquiry over the 25-year-old wingers availability this summer.
The newspaper claims that Rodgers has been tracking Bolasie for some time with his interest going all the way back to when he was in charge at Swansea City, and the pacey midfielder could be available for just £2.5m as he is about to enter the final year of his contract.
That would be an excellent price for a player who still has plenty of years ahead of him and would no doubt improve immensely under the tutelage of Rodgers at Anfield. Bolasie isn’t ready to command a first team place just yet, but he’s versatile and would provide valuable strength and depth in the squad, which is going to be needed next year.
Liverpool are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer as they prepare to welcome Champions League football back to Anfield and the Star suggest Rodgers is looking to bring in six new signings this summer to help cope with the added rigor Europe’s elite competition will bring.

While strengthening the defence is believed to a major priority, Rodgers could also do with some further depth in attack and Bolasie would offer a cheap option with Premier League experience.
However, the report states that the Merseysiders are not the only one’s interested with Fiorentina also believed to be keen, and Palace have already knocked back a £2m bid and are ready to try and tie the Congo international down to a new deal, so it seems Liverpool have a battle on their hands to get hold of Bolasie this summer.
