Arsenal + Man Utd ‘In Contact’ Over Potential £40m Deal For La Liga Star
Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have been contacted by the agent of Sergio Ramos about a potential £40m move for the Real Madrid defender.
With the January transfer window fast approaching managers are formalising their plans to strengthen their squads ahead of the second half of the season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd are linked with Sergio Ramos.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have been contacted by the agent of Sergio Ramos about a potential £40m move for the Real Madrid defender, according to reports.
Ramos is currently in his tenth season at Madrid having joined the club from Sevilla in 2005 and has enjoyed an illustrious career at the Bernabeu that’s seen him win three La Liga titles and one Champions League trophy.
However, the 28-year-old’s future has come under scrutiny in recent months as talks over a new deal continue to stall with reports suggesting the defender is demanding a sizeable pay-rise, despite his current deal expiring in 2017.
It appears Madrid are unwilling to match what Ramos is looking for and this has led to the centre-back testing the market to see what options could be on the table if he decides to jump ship.
The Daily Star is now reporting that the Spanish international’s agent has made contact with officials at Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City to assess their level of interest ahead of a potential summer move.
The newspaper suggests that any deal would likely set-back the trio in the region of £40m but Ramos has supposedly hinted he could be open to a switch to the Premier League if talks with Madrid don’t progress over the coming months.
Ramos is believed to hold a frosty relationship with Madrid supremo Florentino Perez, which could be hindering negotiations, so it will be interesting to see where things stand come the summer.

It would be a sensational coup if the likes of Arsenal, United or City were able to lure him to England but I’d still be surprised if Ramos wasn’t still a Madrid player next season. He’s an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side and I have a feeling his agent may be be touting his client around to try and force Madrid into accepting their contract terms.
