Swansea vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Arsenal take on Swansea at the Liberty on Saturday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Injury-hit Arsenal will look to put their League Cup exit behind them when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
We suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek which not only saw us crash out of the Capital One Cup but to compound our misery Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up injuries.
However, we’re still very much in the title fight with last weeks 2-1 win over Everton seeing us move level on points with leaders Manchester City after they drew at United so it’s important we keep the pressure on with another win tomorrow.
That’s going to be no easy task as Swansea are becoming something of a bogey team for us in recent times as we’ve failed to win any of our previous three games against the Welsh outfit.
Gary Monk’s men started the season on fire but they’ve won just one of their last seven games to slip down to 12th so they’ll be desperate to get back to winning ways and climb back up the table this weekend.

Team news
Walcott and Chamberlain have been ruled out for at least three weeks so they won’t play again until after the next international break.
With Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky all still on the sidelines, we have a real problem on the right wing.
Arsene Wenger is assessing his options but he’s hinted that Costa Rican attacker Joel Campbell will deputise at the Liberty tomorrow afternoon.
Mikel Arteta is still out with an ankle injury so he joins David Ospina on the sidelines, but the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are all set for recalls after being rested in midweek.
As for Swansea, they have the luxury of having a fully-fit squad to choose from [what’s that?!] after Federico Fernandez was cleared over his involvement in a clash with Micah Richards last weekend.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Swansea 1-2 Arsenal: Despite the lengthy injury list we can actually still put out a very competitive team and with the exception of Campbell, the side above isn’t too far off our best eleven. Swansea are certainly a dangerous side and this game will be close, but I think we might just nick it.
Betting Tips
Arsenal are the 8/11 favourites to win with the bookmakers but Football-Talk can get you crazy odds of 5/1 on an away win if you click here. My prediction of 2-1 is on offer at odds of 15/2 while I also like the look of Alexis Sanchez opening the score at 4/1. If we combine those two bets in a score-cast, then we get very tempting odds of 20/1.
