[Video Highlights] Liverpool 1-0 Augsburg: Milner Books Last-16 Spot

Liverpool booked their place in the last-16 of the Europa League with a narrow 1-0 victory over Augsburg at Anfield this evening.

The tie was on a knife-edge following last weeks 0-0 first leg stalemate in Germany but any early nerves were settled when Liverpool were awarded a 4th minute penalty following a handball in the area.

James Milner stepped up and made no mistake from the spot as the midfielder cooly slotted home the resulting penalty into the bottom corner for 1-0.

The hosts continued to dominate but couldn’t find that all-important second goal that would have put the tie to bed with several players guilty of missing chances.

Augsburg almost made the Merseysiders pay with a couple of late chances but Liverpool held on to secure a 1-0 win [1-0 on aggregate] to book their place in the last-16 draw.
