Some of the Liverpool players have been celebrating on Twitter after they beat rivals Manchester United 2-0 in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at Anfield last night.
The Reds dominated the game from the outset and opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Memphis Depay fouled Nathaniel Clyne in the area. Daniel Sturridge stepped-up to cooly slot home the resulting penalty for 1-0.
David De Gea kept the visitors in the game with some fine saves but Liverpool finally found another way past the Spaniard as Adam Lallana pounced on a poor clearance from Chris Smalling to set-up Roberto Firmino who fired home the second goal midway through the second half.
The result puts Liverpool in control as they head to Old Trafford for the second leg next Thursday night and the Merseysiders are now the heavy favourites to progress to the quarter finals of the competition.
Some of the players have taken to Twitter to celebrate the victory over their fierce north-west rivals with Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno, Simon Mignolet, Sheyi Ojo, Danny Ings, Brad Smith and Mamadou Sakho all sharing messages and photos on the site.
Check out what the players have had to say below:
