Liverpool will have one eye on their Europa League semi-final second leg when they take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds slumped to a disappointing last gasp defeat at Villarreal on Thursday night meaning they’ll need to turn things around on home soil at Anfield next week in order to book their place in the final.

However, while Jurgen Klopp insists they are fully focussed on league matters tomorrow, the German coach is expected to prioritise the Europa League second leg and rest some of his key men tomorrow.

It will be an understandable move as Liverpool currently sit seventh in the table so they have little left to play for domestically and the same can be said of Swansea after they reached the all-important 40-point marker with a 1-0 win over Chelsea earlier this month.

Team news

Daniel Sturridge is set for a recall after being left on the bench for the defeat at Villarreal in midweek while Christian Benteke is also pushing for a start after recovering from a knee injury.

Klopp is set to ring the changes with Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno, Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino all expected to be rested.

Danny Ward will start in goal while the likes of Brad Smith, Connor Randall, Martin Skrtel, Pedro Chirivella, Kevin Stewart, Cameron Brannagan, Sheyi Ojo and Jordon Ibe could all feature.

Danny Ings is back in training but this game comes too soon so he remains out along with Divock Origi, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Emre Can.

Swansea will be without striker Alberto Paloschi and midfielder Leroy Fer due to hamstring injuries but Jefferson Montero, Ki Sung-yueng and Bafetimbi Gomis are all pushing for starts.

Swansea 1-1 Liverpool: The Reds second team will be eager to impress and similar sides have performed well against the likes of Bournemouth and Stoke in recent weeks but I have a feeling Swansea will take something away from this game.
