Liverpool will look to book their place in the Europa League final when they take on Villarreal in the second leg of their semi-final tie at Anfield tonight.

The Reds will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit after Adrian Lopez scored a stoppage time winner in the first leg at the El Madrigal last week to give Villarreal the advantage heading in to tonights decisive second leg.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men should hold no fear as they are more than capable of turning things around at Anfield and showed their never-say-die attitude after coming from 3-1 down to beat Borussia Dortmund in the quarter finals last month.

Liverpool warmed up for the game with a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon but we should see a much changed side for tonight’s game and I think the hosts will be confident of getting the result they need against Villarreal to progress to the final.

Liverpool have been handed a major boost with the news that Emre Can resumed full training earlier this week and is fit to return to the squad tonight after recovering from an ankle injury.

Jordan Henderson remains unavailable with a knee problem while Divock Origi is also still on the sidelines with an ankle injury so they join Joe Gomez and Danny Ings in missing the game.

Mamadou Sakho isn’t available after being slapped with a world-wide ban by FIFA as investigations continue in to his failed drugs test.

Klopp is set to recall a number of first team regulars with Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino set to come back in after being rested at the weekend.

As for Villarreal, boss Marcelino has a fully fit squad to choose from after Eric Bailly and Leo Baptistao overcame groin injuries.

Predicted Score

Liverpool 2-0 Villarreal: The Reds were perhaps unfortunate to lose the first leg but I don’t think Villarreal showed anything that Liverpool should be scared of tonight. The Spaniards are a well organised outfit but I don’t see them being able to cope with a Liverpool side cheered on by the Kop at Anfield. A 2-0 win till see the Merseysiders through to the final.
