Wets Brom vs Liverpool Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Liverpool take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Sunday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to field a weakened team when the Reds finish off their Premier League season at West Brom on Sunday.
Understandably, Klopp has to make Wednesday’s Europa League final against Sevilla his priority as not only is there a major trophy at stake but the victors will qualify for the Champions League next season.
Liverpool currently sit eighth in the table and could finish sixth and guarantee Europa League qualification again if West Ham and Southampton lose but the focus simply has to be on Wednesday’s trip to Basel.
West Brom come in to the game in poor form having not won since early March but Tony Pulis will want to end the campaign on a positive note after securing their top flight status for another season.
Team news
Klopp is set to rest his key players with Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Kolo Toure, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno, Emre Can, James Milner, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge expected to be left out.
Danny Ward is fit to start in goal while the likes of Jon Flanagan, Martin Skrtel, Brad Smith, Joe Allen, Kevin Stewart, Sheyi Ojo, Jordon Ibe and Christian Benteke could also start.
Danny Ings could return to the bench after recovering from a serious knee injury but Mamadou Sakho continues to miss out due to his drugs ban.
Jordan Henderson and Divock Origi are back in training and hoping to feature against Sevilla but this game comes too soon.
West Brom will be without James Morrison due to a hamstring injury but Stephane Sessegnon is likely to play despite carrying a knock.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
West Brom 1-1 Liverpool: The Reds second-string will be keen to impress with the hope of forcing their way into Klopp’s side in midweek but the Baggies will want to end their campaign on a positive note so I can see this one ending in a draw.
Betting Tips
Liverpool are the 19/20 favourites with the bookmakers but if you want a little more value then my prediction of 1-1 is on offer at 11/2 while I also like the look of Benteke as the first goalscorer at 9/2, and if we combine those bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 28/1.
BACK a 1-1 DRAW WITH BENTEKE AS FIRST SCORER AT 28/1
