The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Julian Draxler….
German bookmakers have been forced to slash the odds on Julian Draxler joining Manchester United amid reports that Jose Mourinho has tabled a £30m bid for the Wolfsburg attacker, according to the Express.
Mourinho is gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer window and the Portuguese coach is expected to strengthen his attack as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the title next season.
Several names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the so-called ‘Special One’ took over and the Daily Star reported over the weekend that United had launched a £30m bid to sign German international Draxler.
Those reports appear to have led to a flurry of bets on the 22-year-old moving to Manchester as the Express claim that German bookmaker bwin has now been forced to slash the odds of Draxler joining United from 11/1 to just 3/1, making them the favourites for his signature.
The attacker progressed through the youth system at Schalke before joining Wolfsburg last summer and he enjoyed a solid season at the Volkswagen Arena after scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists in his 35 appearances.
That form saw him named in the German squad for Euro 2016 and Draxler has starred for the World Champions with the youngster scoring a fine goal during a 3-0 win over Slovakia at the weekend that booked their place in the quarter finals.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop and Wolfsburg will no doubt do all they can to keep hold on to their star man but I think Draxler would be a sensational signing if United could pull it off this summer.

He’s predominantly played on the left-wing but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d give Mourinho plenty of options in the final third next season if he does end up moving to Old Trafford.
