Tottenham vs Liverpool Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Tottenham take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Satruday. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game
Tottenham Hotspur will look to build on last weekends win over Crystal Palace when they welcome Liverpool to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have made a solid start to the new Premier League season after following up their opening weekend draw at Everton with a 1-0 victory over Palace last weekend.
However, Spurs will face their sternest test yet as Liverpool arrive in the capital looking to leave north London with all three points for the second time this season having already beaten Arsenal 4-3 in a thriller at the Emirates on the opening Sunday of the new campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s men showed their inconsistent side after slumping to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Burnley last weekend but they recovered to book their place in the third round of the EFL Cup with a 5-0 win over Burton Albion in midweek.
Team News
Spurs have no fresh injury concerns to worry about but Dele Alli could return to the starting eleven after being dropped to the bench for the Palace game last time out. Vincent Janssen is the man most likely to make way for the England midfielder.
Hugo Lloris remains sidelined with a hamstring injury so Michel Vorm will continue to deputise between the sticks while Mousa Dembele serves the fifth game of his six-match suspension.
Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is a doubt with a minor hamstring injury that he picked up at Burnley but Klopp will be praying the Brazilian passes a late fitness test.
Emre Can is also a doubt with an ankle injury that he suffered against Burton on Tuesday night while Divock Origi will also be assessed after being forced off in that game with cramp.
Klopp is expected to recall Ragnar Klaven to the defence while James Milner could keep his place ahead of Alberto Moreno at left-back.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool: Spurs have been solid and unspectacular so far in their opening two games but we know what we should get from the north Londoners. Liverpool on the other hand have been inconsistent and have gone from being excellent at Arsenal to extremely poor at Burnley. The result will all depend on which Liverpool turn up but I fancy Spurs to edge this one at home.
Betting Tips
Tottenham are the slight 27/20 favourites for the game but if you want better odds, then my recommended bet would be Spurs to win 2-1 at odds of 33/4. 138.com are offering a 100% free bet up to £25 so if you took full advantage of that offer, then you would stand to win £231.25 if Tottenham beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday!
