[Photos] Firmino, Milner & Matip Involved As Liverpool Lose 2-1 To Huddersfield

Several of Liverpool’s first-team stars were involved as the Reds suffered a 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town in a friendly at Melwood on Friday afternoon.

With the international break upon us, Jurgen Klopp organised a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon and many of his first team squad were involved as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat.

Summer signing Joel Matip started alongside Lucas Leiva in defence while James Milner – fresh from retiring from England duty – also lined-up along with Alberto Moreno while Alex Manninger was chosen between the sticks.

Roberto Firmino was overlooked for the Brazil squad so Klopp gave the playmaker some minutes at Melwood this afternoon while Danny Ings continued to build his match fitness with another ninety minute run-out up front.

Despite the experienced side put out by Liverpool, they could beat the Championship leaders as they slumped to a defeat despite youngster Ovie Ejari finding the net with a close-range header.
