Chelsea Team News: Conte Offers Update Ahead Of Leicester Clash
Antonio Conte has offered a team news and injury update ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League trip to the King Power to take on Leicester tomorrow.
Chelsea will be looking to get their Premier League title challenge back on track following their defeat to Spurs when they take on Leicester City at the King Power on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, boss Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered reporters a team news and injury update.
The Blues boss suggested that he may have a couple of injury doubts to contend with for the game after saying he has to check on ‘a couple of situations’ before settling on his starting eleven.
The Italian coach didn’t divulge any further details or give any indication as to the names of the players in question but it doesn’t sound like anything serious so hopefully the ‘situations’ will resolve themselves before the Leicester game tomorrow.
Otherwise Conte has no other injury problems to deal with as his squad came out of last weekend’s FA Cup win over Peterborough United at Stamford Bridge unscathed.
The Chelsea manager is expected to recall a number of players for the trip to Leicester with the likes of Thibaut Courtois, David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic, Victor Moses, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa all set for recalls after being rested last time out.
We could also see Nathan Ake come back in to the squad after being recalled from his loan spell at Bournemouth and Conte has said the young defender has been impressing in training this week.
The Blues boss says he’s yet to decide whether Ake will be involved this weekend but he did suggest he may need a bit more time to get used to their style of play before he’ll be thrown in to the starting eleven.
