Man Utd Transfer News: Mourinho Could Sign £48m International Attacker
Manchester United could still launch a late bid to sign Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic during the closing hours of the transfer window
Deadline day is here and managers are frantically trying to get those last minute deals over the line so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd could still sign Ivan Perisic…
Manchester United could still launch a late bid to sign Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic during the closing hours of the transfer window, according to the Express.
Perisic has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer after Jose Mourinho identified him as a key transfer target with the United boss confirming he’s in the market for another wide attacker.
Untied cooled their interest after struggling to agree a deal with Inter as the Express claim the Red Devils were reluctant to meet the Italian giants £48m asking price after seeing two lower bids rejected.
Anthony Martial’s excellent early season form also contributed to Mourinho pulling away from any potential deal for Perisic as the French international has netted twice in the opening three games.
However, United could yet revive their interest in Perisic with the Express citing Sky Sports reporter Alan Irwin as saying that a deal taking the Croatian international to Old Trafford could still go through today.
The reporter is quoted as saying by the Express:
“Mourinho had his targets and has pretty much achieved them all. He did also want a wide player in Ivan Perisic, and that may still go through.
“But that move was put on the back burner after their early-season form, especially that of Anthony Martial.”
Mourinho has said all summer he ideally wanted four signings with a wide attacker his priority after previously landing Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof.
There is still time for United to pull off a deal for Perisic and I think he’d be a superb addition to their squad as the 28-year-old is a hard-working attacker so he would fit in well with Mourinho’s style of play.

The former Wolfsburg attacker is also a threat in the final third as he provided 11 goals and a further 12 assists for Inter last season so I think he’d be a big success here in the Premier League if he does join United before 11pm.
