Jurgen Klopp has made seven changes from the side that drew with Sevilla in the Champions League in midweek with Simon Mignolet returning between the sticks.
Philippe Coutinho also comes in to make his first start of the new season with Sadio Mane suspended while Daniel Sturridge comes in to lead the line up front.
Ragnar Klavan gets a start at the back with Dejan Lovren dropping out with a sore back while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson get recalls in the full-back positions.
James Milner replaces Jordan Henderson in midfield but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has to wait to make his full debut.
