Confirmed: Attacker Returns As Liverpool Announce 21-Man Squad For Moscow Trip
Sadio Mane is back in the Liverpool squad after Jurgen Klopp named his 21-man travelling party ahead of their Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow.
Sadio Mane is back in the Liverpool squad after Jurgen Klopp named his 21-man travelling party ahead of their Champions League Group E clash with Spartak Moscow.
The Reds will fly out to Russia today to prepare for their second group stage game after being held to a 2-2 draw by Sevilla at Anfield earlier this month.
Mane has missed Liverpool’s last three domestic games due to suspension but the Senegal attacker is now back in contention and is expected to start against Moscow tomorrow night.
However, defender Joe Gomez misses the trip as the youngster will serve a one-match suspension having been sent off during the final stages of the draw with Sevilla.
Gomez started during the 3-2 Premier League victory over Leicester City on Saturday but Trent Alexander-Arnold is now tipped for a recall at right-back tomorrow.
Ben Woodburn won’t be involved as he’s been named in the Reds’ under-19 squad for their UEFA Youth League clash with Spartak while there is no place for Lazar Markovic, Marko Grujic and Danny Ings in the 21-man squad.
Klopp is expected to freshen-up his starting eleven with the likes of Loris Karius, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all pushing for recalls after being named on the bench at the weekend.
