Tottenham Team News: Pochettino Confirms 4 Key Man Will Miss Bournemouth Clash
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that four key players will be absent for Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend.
Tottenham will look to pick up where they left off before the international break when they take on AFC Bournemouth at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given a team news and injury update.
The Spurs boss confirmed that Mousa Dembele, Erik Lamela and Danny Rose are all back in first team training but the trio are still not available for selection just yet.
Dembele has been hampered by an ankle injury that’s kept him out of Tottenham’s last four games and the Belgian international will continue to miss out this weekend.
Lamela hasn’t featured for Spurs in almost a year due to a serious hip problem but it looks as though the attacker is now edging closer to making his long-awaited return to the first team.
Rose has also been out for the long-term as he hasn’t played since suffering knee ligament trouble back in January but the England international is also closing-in on full fitness – although the Bournemouth game will come too soon.
Victor Wanyama has been restricted to making just two appearances in all competitions this season due to a knee injury and Pochettino confirmed the midfielder remains sidelined this weekend.
The Spurs boss told TottenhamHotspur.com:
Mousa Dembele (ankle), Erik Lamela (hips), Danny Rose (knee)
All three players have started reintegrating into first team training sessions as they continue their recoveries.Victor Wanyama (knee)
Victor is stepping up his rehabilitation and remains sidelined.
Tottenham head in to the weekend action sitting third in the Premier League table following back-to-back wins over West Ham and Huddersfield so Pochettino will want to keep the pressure on the top two with another victory tomorrow.
