Some of the Tottenham players have been celebrating on social media after securing a famous 3-1 victory over Real Madrid at Wembley last night.
Spurs opened the scoring midway through the first half when Dele Alli converted a Kieran Trippier cross before the England international fired home the second via a deflection early in the second half.
Christian Eriksen finished-off a superb counter-attack to make it 3-0 and while Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a late consolation, Spurs held on to secure a sensational 3-1 win over the reigning European champions.
The victory means Tottenham go three points clear at the top of Group H and have booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League so it’s no surprise the players have been celebrating online.
Goalscorers Alli and Eriksen both posted messages saying ‘What a night!’ on Twitter and Instagram while the likes of Trippier, Jan Vertonghen, Michel Vorm, Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez also took to social media to express their delight at the result.
Toby Alderweireld limped off in the first half with a hamstring injury and the defender has vowed to come back stronger but congratulated his team-mates for going on to seal a famous win without him.
