Ipswich vs Arsenal: Injury News, Preferred Team & Predicted Score

By on January 12, 2011

Portman Road

Ipswich host Arsenal at Portman Road tonight. The Blues returning from London having suffered a 7-0 thrashing from Premier League Champions Chelsea now face an Arsenal side which will be looking to earn back some respect after their ‘performance’ against Leeds United. In all probability we shall field a weak side against Ipswich. Hopefully the fellas’ should do enough work so when we host them at the Emirates we won’t have a lot to do!

Injury News :

The normal list of injuries now has a new addition to it. Sebastien Squillaci has unfortunately picked up a hamstring injury against Leeds, and is ruled out of this clash. [However every cloud does have a silver lining, so this injury may just force Le Boss to buy a defender in January.] The remaining names are the same : Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles), Manuel Almunia (ankle), Abou Diaby (calf) are all out with defender Bacary Sagna serving his 2nd match ban.

Preferred Team

————————————————-Szczesny——————————————————–

—Eboue————————Miguel———————Kosher——————————Gibbs———

————————————————Eastmond———————————————————-

———————————–Aaron———————Rosicky———————————————

—–Arshavin—————————————————————————Vela———————

————————————————–Nikko————————————————————

Subs: Luke, Clichy, Djourou, Jack, Denilson, Nasri, Chamakh

Final thoughts:

AA23 has really been having a bad dry spell, and this would be the perfect opportunity for him to do well. Nikko wants his chance up front, so I’d play him. Djourou can rest for sometime, with rookie defender Miguel taking his place. Hopefully Cesc can be given some time to rest for Upton Park next week with Chamakh and Nasri sitting on the bench (incase something goes horribly wrong!)

Prediction:

IPSWICH TOWN 0 – 4 ARSENAL FC

Cheers,

THE ARMOURY

Well mate you have some confidence I give you that ! With your team, I will be happy to draw 1-1….as its even weaker defensively and in DMF spot than ever . Hope you are right and I am totally wrong!

Wilshere should be involved from the start after being rested at the weekend. Ramsey unfortunately isn’t ready for a start, He is still way off the pace judging from his Forest cameos. However if Arsenal Start well, expect him to get 20+ minutes.
Rosicky should get the nod again to pulll the strings and Chamack should start at the tip of the front 3. Either Walcott or Nasri will also start, i’d go with Nasri, as historically he’s less of a risk with Walcott added to the mix again after the half. Lets see.

No chance Djourou should be playing. He is vital for the team now and the last thing we want is him getting injured again.

Same can be said about Cesc and RVP, but i have a feeling Arsene will play Fabs but keep RVP on the bench. Chamack will defo start i think. I expect a fairly strong side:

Chesney, eboue, gibbs, kos, song, denilson, wilshere, cesc, nasri, chamakh, rosicky.
