Tottenham Team News: Poch Confirms Injury Boost But Key Man Could Miss Leicester
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Harry Winks could miss the Leicester game tomorrow but Erik Lamela is finally back in contention.
Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media and he’s offered the latest team and injury news including updates on several of his first team players.
Let’s start with the good news and Pochettino confirmed that Erik Lamela could make his long-awaited comeback tomorrow after finally overcoming a niggling hip injury.
Lamela hasn’t featured for 13 months after sustaining the problem last season and he’s been patiently trying to regain fitness in training these past few months.
However, the Argentinean international is now finally deemed fit enough to be in contention for a place in the squad so we could see the attacker making his first appearance of the season tomorrow.
Pochettino also confirmed that Victor Wanyama and Toby Alderweireld remain on the sidelines as the pair continue to work their way back to fitness following serious injuries.
Wanyama has made just two appearances this season due to a knee injury while Alderweireld is nursing a hamstring injury and neither player is expected back before Christmas.
There is also a concern over the fitness of Harry Winks as Pochettino has revealed the midfielder is a doubt for the trip to the King Power tomorrow due to illness.

Tottenham will be hoping Winks is passed fit as the midfielder has become a key part of Pochettino’s starting eleven this season so it would be a blow if he was to miss the Leicester game.
However, Spurs fans will be delighted to hear Lamela will be back in the squad tomorrow as the attacker has been sorely missed over the past year but they shouldn’t expected too much as it will take time for him to regain his best form.
Tottenham head in to the midweek round of fixtures having dropped out of the top four following their draw with West Brom so they’ll be desperate to climb back above Arsenal with a positive result tomorrow.
