Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur moved to within one point of the top four after thrashing Stoke City 5-1 at Wembley this afternoon.
Spurs started brightly and opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross put through his own net following a Hueng-min Son cross.
The South Korean international then made it 2-0 shortly after half-time after slotting home following a swift break-away before Kane made it 3-0 just one minute later.
Kane bagged his second and Tottenham’s fourth of the day as the England international drilled home a loose ball with a low left-footed strike from the edge of the area in the 65th minute.
Christian Eriksen then broke through the Stoke defence to fire home Tottenham’s fifth goal and while Shawcross pulled one back from a late corner, Spurs eased to a 5-1 win.
The victory sees Tottenham leapfrog Arsenal in to fifth position and they now trail fourth-placed Liverpool by just one point ahead of their clash with Everton on Sunday.
