Hueng-min Son continued his fine form in front of goal after helping Tottenham beat Brighton 2-0 at Wembley to go fourth in the table.
It was a fairly dull first half with Tottenham struggling to get going and Brighton happy to sit back and defending with the aim of hitting Spurs on the counter attack.
However, with half time approaching Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to break the deadlock in fortuitous circumstances as Serge Aurier’s deep cross evaded everybody and flew over Matt Ryan’s head and in to the net for 1-0 in the 40th minute.
Brighton pushed for an equaliser after the break but couldn’t find a way through and Spurs wrapped-up the three points late on as Son stooped at the near post to flick home Christian Eriksen’s free kick for 2-0.
The victory sees Tottenham move level on points with Liverpool and Burnley but they go fourth due to their superior goal difference.
