Liverpool take on Leicester City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Liverpool will look to cement their position in the top four with a positive result when they take on Leicester City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds head in to the weekend action off the back of a hugely impressive 5-0 demolition of Swansea City on Boxing Day with Roberto Firmino helping himself to a brace at Anfield.
That win saw Liverpool remain fourth in the Premier League table but with Tottenham and Arsenal just one point behind Jurgen Klopp knows he needs a win to ensure they cling on to a top four spot.
Leicester travel to Merseyside having not won any of their last four games in all competitions but they still sit eighth in the table so Claude Puel will be hoping to take home a positive result this weekend.
Team news
Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson as the skipper continues to recover from a hamstring injury that’s expected to keep him on the sidelines for around a month.
Alberto Moreno is also still missing due to an ankle injury but Klopp is hoping to have the left-back available for the visit of Manchester City in two weeks time.
Daniel Sturridge is a doubt due to a muscle injury while Nathaniel Clyne is still nursing a back injury but Klopp is expected to rotate with Mohamed Salah among those who could be given a breather.
Leicester are without Robert Huth, Danny Simpson and Matty James but Daniel Amartey returns from suspension.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Liverpool 3-1 Leicester: The Foxes have won the last three meetings between the two clubs in all competitions so they should be confident of getting a result this weekend. However, the Reds are unbeaten in their last 11 league games and I don’t see that run coming to an end tomorrow as I’m backing Liverpool to secure a 3-1 win.
