The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on James Maddison….
Liverpool and Tottenham are ready to pounce with Norwich City expected to cash-in on £30m-rated attacking midfielder James Maddison this summer, according to the Mirror.
Maddison came through the youth ranks at Coventry City before joining Norwich in 2016 and he’s developed in to one of the most exciting young talents outside of the Premier League over the past two seasons.
The 21-year-old has established himself in the first team and he’s provided 15 goals and 11 assists in his 45 appearances in all competition so far despite Norwich enduring a frustrating campaign.
His impressive form has caught the attention of clubs in the Premier League with the Mirror claiming that Liverpool and Tottenham have already expressed their interest in signing the talented midfielder.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to further strengthen his talented young squad this summer after virtually securing Champions League football again and is looks like Spurs hope Maddison could be the ‘new Dele Alli’.
However, the north Londoners will face stiff competition from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp has also seemingly identified the youngster as a transfer target as the Merseysiders look to build on their Champions League success.
The duo have now been placed on red alert as the Mirror suggest that Norwich will be forced to cash-in on Maddison as parachute payments from their 2016 relegation come to an end this summer.
However, they won’t let their financial situation see the England U21 international leave on the cheap as the newspaper says Norwich have slapped a £30m price-tag on Maddison’s head.

Obviously Liverpool and Spurs have the resources to meet that asking price but it remains to be seen if either club will be prepared to pay that kind of money for the inexperienced attacking midfielder this summer.
