The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Bruno Fernandes…
Tottenham have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon’s £87m-rated attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes this summer, according to the Mirror.
Fernandes only joined Sporting from Sampdoria last summer but has enjoyed an excellent debut season having provided 14 goals and 20 assists in all competitions to help lead them reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
The attacker has also established himself as a regular in the Portuguese national team squad and is expected to be on the plane for the World Cup finals in Russia this summer.
Fernandes’s impressive form has attracted interest from the Premier League with the Mirror reporting recently that Liverpool have opened talks with Sporting over a potential deal to sign the midfielder.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to be in the market for another attacker this summer after failing to bring in a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his move to Barcelona in January and it seems Fernandes is on his radar.
However, the Merseysiders will face stiff competition as the Mirror are now claiming that Tottenham have joined the chase to sign Fernandes after sending scouts to watch him in action at the weekend.
The north London spies would have been impressed with what they saw as Fernandes grabbed two assists and scored a late winner to secure Sporting a dramatic 4-3 victory over Belenenses.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to further strengthen his squad this summer as Spurs look to take the next step to become genuine title contenders and the Argentinean coach is seemingly on Fernandes’s trail.

However, Tottenham and Liverpool will have to be prepared to dig deep if they want to sign the attacking midfielder as the Mirror claims Sporting will demand the full value of his £87m release clause if they’re to cash-in on their prized asset.
