Arsenal Ready To Battle Liverpool Over Deal To Sign 22-Year-Old Brazilian Winger
Arsenal are ready to do-battle with Liverpool over a deal to sign Kenedy if the winger decides to leave Chelsea this summer, according to Goal
The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Kenedy…
Arsenal are ready to do-battle with Liverpool over a deal to sign Kenedy if the winger decides to leave Chelsea this summer, according to Goal via the Mirror.
Kenedy joined Chelsea from Fluminense in 2015 but struggled to force his way in to the starting eleven and was forced to head out on loan to get regular first team football.
The 22-year-old rediscovered some of his best form during the second half of last season after joining Newcastle on a short-term deal in January and Rafa Benitez is keen to make the move permanent.
However, Kenedy is yet to make a decision over his future as he’s attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs with the Mirror claiming that Liverpool are hoping to lure the winger to Anfield.
The Reds slumped to a disappointing Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday night and Jurgen Klopp knows he needs to further strengthen his squad if they’re to challenge on all fronts next season.
Attacking reinforcements is a priority as Liverpool need to add more depth behind the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, and it looks like Klopp is eyeing a move for Kenedy.
However, Liverpool will face plenty of competition as the Mirror are citing a report from Goal that claims Arsenal are among a host of clubs who’ve also expressed an interest in signing the Brazilian winger.
Unai Emery was announced as Arsene Wenger’s replacement last week and the Spaniard needs to revamp the entire squad if Arsenal are to compete for the top four next season and it seems Kenedy is on his radar.
Kenedy is a left midfielder but he’s comfortable playing at left-back, left wing-back or even as a left-sided attacker so he’d offer Emery or Klopp plenty of options if he was to move to either Arsenal or Liverpool this summer.

However, the Premier League duo will face competition from abroad as Goal claim that Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are also in the running while Kenedy could yet stay at Chelsea if Antonio Conte leaves the club.
