From Brazil: Liverpool Open Talks To Sign South American Star In Potential £61m Deal
Liverpool have held talks with Alisson Beck’s agent about a possible move to Anfield with Roma ready to sell if £61m is put on the table
The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool hold talks to sign Alisson…
Liverpool have held talks with Alisson Becker’s agent about a possible move to Anfield with Roma ready to sell if £61m is put on the table, according to UOL Esporte.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market for a new number one this summer after Loris Karius made two costly mistakes during Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
The young German is still expected to stay at Anfield but he’s unlikely to retain the first team jersey as Klopp needs a reliable keeper if the Merseysiders are to compete on all fronts next season.
Alisson has emerged as a prime target in recent months after impressing for Roma since joining the club from Inter Milan two years ago and he played a key role in their march to the last four of the Champions League.
Widespread speculation has suggested that Klopp is keen to lure the Brazilian international to Anfield and it looks like Liverpool have now stepped-up their pursuit over the past few days.
UOL Esporte claims that Liverpool chiefs held talks with Alisson’s agents to discuss a potential move ahead of Brazil’s friendly win over Croatia at Anfield over the weekend.
The Brazilian publication says Alisson is keen to leave Roma in search of a new challenge this summer and the Italian giants are ready to sell if Liverpool meet their £61m [€70m] asking price.
I’m sure the Reds will try to negotiate that valuation as it would smash the current world record for a goalkeeper but I can’t see Roma doing Liverpool any favours after selling them Mohamed Salah at a bargain price last year.

Alisson would be an excellent signing for the Merseysiders and the 25-year-old wants his future resolved before flying out to Russia for the World Cup, so we should see more developments over the coming days.
