Liverpool and Tottenham are in a battle to sign James Maddison as Norwich City prepare to cash-in on the £25m-rated goal-scoring midfielder, according to Sky Sports.
Maddison has developed in to one of the hottest properties outside of the Premier League since joining Norwich in 2016 having previously progressed through the youth ranks at Coventry.
The 21-year-old has established himself in the first team at Carrow Road and has just enjoyed a stunning campaign having provided 15 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for a struggling Norwich side last season.
The attacking midfielder’s impressive form has caught the attention of clubs in the top flight as Sky Sports claim Liverpool and Tottenham are among the clubs to have expressed their interest in recent months.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is in the market for another attacking midfielder as he looks to replace Philippe Coutinho following his move to Barcelona during the January transfer window.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Nabil Fekir in recent weeks but with Lyon playing hardball over the Frenchman, Klopp could be eyeing Maddison as a cheaper alternative.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to further strengthen his squad this summer after securing Champions League football for another season and Maddison could be viewed as the next ‘Dele Alli’.
Sky Sports claim Norwich will be forced to cash-in this summer as their lucrative parachute payments from the Premier League are due to end but they want up to £25m for their star man.
That sort of money shouldn’t put off Liverpool or Spurs but the duo will face fresh competition as the report says Fulham have now joined the chase to sign Maddison following their promotion to the top flight.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but it looks like Maddison is a man in demand and I think the England U21 international would be an exciting signing for Liverpool or Spurs if they could get a deal agreed.
