Man Utd Lining-Up Audacious £147m Move To Sign World Class Star – Report
Manchester United are lining-up a £147m swoop for Kylian Mbappe that would also see Anthony Martial join Paris Saint-Germain as part of the deal
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Kylian Mbappe….
Manchester United are lining-up a sensational £147m swoop for Kylian Mbappe that would also see Anthony Martial join Paris Saint-Germain as part of the deal, according to reports via TeamTalk.
Mbappe came through the youth ranks at Monaco and burst on to the scene as one of the hottest young talents in world football after scoring 26 goals to help win the Ligue 1 title in 2017. His potential attracted interest from a whole host of top European clubs but PSG won the race as they agreed to sign Mbappe on an initial loan ahead of a €180m [£158m] permanent move this summer.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a solid debut season at the Parc des Prince as he provided 21 goals and 16 assists in all competitions to help win the domestic treble while he’s also expected to be a key part of Dider Deschamps’ France team at this summers World Cup finals.
Real Madrid have been long-term admirers, however, it seems United are eyeing a shock move for Mbappe as TeamTalk are citing a report from Don Balon that claims the Red Devils are ready to table a deal worth £147m [€167m] with Martial also included as part-exchange.
Martial’s future at Old Trafford is in serious doubt as he fell out of favour under Mourinho last season and started just 4 Premier League games following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January.
The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from United this summer after missing out on the French World Cup squad and it seems Mourinho is ready to use Martial as bait to land Mbappe.
The United attacker should be valued well in excess of £50m in today’s market so that would make United’s reported offer for Mbappe worth at least the £200m mark, so we would be looking at a world record deal.
However, I’m not convinced even that sort of money will tempt PSG in to cashing-in on the teenager just yet and even if they did decide to sell, I’m sure Madrid would provide stiff competition.
