Liverpool are ready to try and hijack Tottenham’s attempts to sign Aston Villa’s £40m-rated attacking midfielder Jack Grealish this summer
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool join the chase to sign Jack Grealish…
Liverpool are ready to try and hijack Tottenham’s attempts to sign Aston Villa’s £40m-rated attacking midfielder Jack Grealish this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Grealish has been on Villa’s books his entire career after joining the clubs youth system as a child and he progressed through the ranks to become a key first team player in recent years. The 22-year-old played a vital role in Villa’s promotion push last season that saw them reach the Championship play-off final before losing out to Fulham at Wembley.
The Midlands club are in severe financial trouble so they’re expected to cash-in on some of their key players and Grealish has caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League with TeamTalk claiming that Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton are among the teams to have expressed their interest.
Spurs are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of another season in the Champions League and Mauricio Pochettino has identified Grealish as a player who could add depth to his midfield options.
The report says Tottenham have already tabled an opening £20m offer for the England U21 international but Villa are holding out for closer to £40m and it seems the north Londoners will now face fresh competition.
TeamTalk are citing a report from Sun that claims Liverpool are now ready to hijack Tottenham’s attempts to sign Grealish by lining-up a move of their own as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his ranks this summer.
The Reds boss needs more competition for places in the attacking midfield department if Liverpool are to compete on all fronts next season and it looks like Klopp is eyeing a swoop for Grealish after seeing a proposed deal for Nabil Fekir collapse.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming weeks but I think Grealish would be an exciting signing for either club if Tottenham or Liverpool were able to get a deal agreed for his signature this summer.
