Liverpool Trump Tottenham With Improved Bid As Reds Look To Seal £97m Double Swoop
Liverpool have trumped Tottenham’s bid for Domagoj Vida and are preparing an £80m offer for Paulo Dybala as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure a £97m double swoop
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with a big-money double swoop…
Liverpool have trumped Tottenham with an improved bid for Domagoj Vida and are preparing a club-record offer for Paulo Dybala as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure a £97m double swoop, according to reports via TeamTalk.
Klopp has already signed two midfielders this summer after splashing out on Fabinho and Naby Keita but the Reds boss is also reportedly keen to strengthen in defence as well as in attack before the window closes ahead of the new season next month.
A new central defender is seemingly on the agenda and Vida has been touted as a target in the media with reports earlier this week, via TeamTalk, claiming that Tottenham were hoping to trump Liverpool after tabling a £15.9m bid for the Besiktas star.
Mauricio Pochettino is on the market for another centre-back amid speculation surrounding the future of Toby Alderweireld and Spurs have identified Vida as a potential replacement for the Belgian international.
However, TeamTalk are citing a report from BeIn Sports that claims Liverpool have now hijacked Tottenham’s move by tabling an improved £17m offer for the 29-year-old’s signature.
Vida has been one of the stars of the World Cup as he helped Croatia reach their first ever final with a dramatic 2-1 win over England on Wednesday night and the report suggests Besiktas have been demanding around £30m for the defender.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but Vida isn’t the only player Liverpool are hoping to sign as TeamTalk are also citing a report from TyC Sports that claims the Reds are ready to launch a stunning bid for Dybala.
The Argentinean international emerged as a shock target last week and the report says Liverpool are ready to test Juve’s resolve with an £80m offer after opening talks with the Serie A champions.
Juventus may need to cash-in on one of their key men after sealing a sensational deal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo so they may be open to the idea of selling Dybala in order to make room for the Portuguese superstar.
Klopp is in the market for another attacker as he’s yet to replace Philippe Coutinho following his January move to Barcelona and Liverpool saw a proposed deal to sign Lyon’s Nabil Fekir collapse last month.

We’ll have to see how negotiations progress but I’d personally be surprised if Juve sold Dybala as the 24-year-old is one of the most exciting young players in Europe right now.
