Man Utd In Advanced Negotiations To Wrap-Up 4th Summer Signing

Manchester United are in advanced negotiations over a deal to sign Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic as the Red Devils look to wrap-up their fourth summer signing, according to reports in France via TeamTalk.

Jose Mourinho has already brought-in three news faces with goalkeeper Lee Grant, right-back Diogo Dalot and midfielder Fred all arriving in recent weeks but United know they need to further strengthen if they’re to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this coming campaign.

Another attacker could be on the agenda as Anthony Martial is being strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Mourinho last season and it seems they’ve renewed their interest in Perisic.

The Croatian international was linked with a move to Manchester last summer but TeamTalk claim United refused to meet Inter’s £44m valuation and Perisic ended up staying at the San Siro and signing a new contract.

However, the 29-year-old is back on United’s radar after enjoying an excellent World Cup with the winger scoring during Croatia’s 2-1 win over England in midweek to book a place in their first ever World Cup final.

His semi-final performance earned praise from Mourinho with the Manchester United boss hailing Perisic’s qualities that set him apart from more traditional wingers.

Mourinho is quoted as saying by TeamTalk:

“Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others,”

“Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical, fantastic in the air.”

It seems Mourinho has now stepped-up his interest as TeamTalk are citing a report from French outlet Euro United as saying that United are in advanced negotiations over a deal to sign Perisic.

We’ll have to wait and see how the talks progress but Perisic would be an excellent addition to Mourinho’s squad if United could manage to get a deal agreed and lure the winger to Old Trafford this summer.
