The summer transfer window is drawing to a close and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are linked with Marcelo Brozovic…
Tottenham Hotspur have launched a £35.7m bid to sign Marcelo Brozovic but Inter Milan are holding out for closer to £45m for the talented midfielder, according to reports in Croatia via Bleacher Report.
Mauricio Pochettino has endured a difficult summer as chairman Daniel Levy has failed to land any of his prime targets so far meaning Tottenham are yet to build on their impressive third-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
Spurs are keen to bring in a new midfielder before the transfer window shuts and Jack Grealish has been touted as a key target but the Evening Standard claims Aston Villa have rejected Tottenham’s latest £25m bid for the England Under-21 international.
Pochettino is looking at alternatives and it seems Brozovic is now on his radar as Bleacher Report are citing a report from Sportske Novosti that claims Tottenham have tabled an opening £35.7m bid for the midfielder.
The Croatian publication says Brozovic is keen to secure a move this summer but Inter Milan have rejected Tottenham’s offer and are demanding the players £44.6m release clause is paid in full.
Brozovic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 and after a mixed start to life in Italy he’s established himself as a key player having provided 18 goals and a further 9 assists in his 112 appearances so far.
The 25-year-old featured for Croatia at the World Cup where he played alongside Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic to lead his country to their first ever final before eventually losing 4-2 to winners France.

We’ll have to wait and see if Tottenham return with an improved offer but Brozovic would be an excellent signing if they could get a deal agreed and he could be viewed as a potential replacement for Mousa Dembele amid rumours he could leave White Hart Lane this summer.
