Manchester City will be looking to cement their position at the top of the table with a positive result when they take on Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

City boss Pep Guardiola has opted for Riyad Mahrez over Leroy Sane in attack while Sergio Aguero coming in for Gabriel Jesus – who misses out despite scoring a hat-trick in midweek.

United will have to make do without Paul Pogba as the midfielder has been ruled out through injury so Marouane Fellaini comes in to the midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.

Alexis Sanchez has been dropped to the bench with Marcus Rashford coming in up front and he’s supported by Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in attack. Romelu Lukaku returns to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury but is only named on the bench.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Man City

Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Silva, Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling, Aguero

Subs: Muric, Kompany, Gündogan, Delph, Sané, Jesus, Foden

Man Utd

De Gea, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Shaw, Matic, Herrera, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford, Martial.

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Jones, Fred, Mata, Alexis, Lukaku
