Liverpool have been handed a double fitness boost after Jurgen Klopp named Sadio Mane and Joe Gomez in his 21-man squad ahead of their trip to Paris Saint-Germain.
Mane emerged as a doubt for the crucial Champions League group stage match on Wednesday night after being struck down with illness in the lead-up to the game. However, the Senegal international was able to take part in full training at Melwood this afternoon and Klopp has confirmed the attacker is available for selection after being named in his 21-man squad.
Gomez wasn’t risked for Liverpool’s 3-0 victory at Watford after picking up a minor knock in training last week but the defender was also able to train this afternoon and will travel with the squad to Paris ahead of tomorrow night’s Group C encounter at the Parc des Princes.
However, there wasn’t such positive news on Kamil Grabara and Divock Origi as they will miss the trip to France due to illness. Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I got a message yesterday that Divock, Sadio and Kamil were ill. They came in and we checked them again – Sadio trained today as normal and is available.”
“That’s [Gomez] all good. All the rest is like it was before.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will obviously miss out tomorrow night as he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury while Adam Lallana is out with a muscle problem.
Klopp will therefore take the following 21-man squad with him to Paris today, as confirmed on Liverpoolfc.com:
Alisson, Mignolet, Fabinho, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Mane, Salah, Gomez, Henderson, Sturridge, Moreno, Shaqiri, Robertson, Matip, Kelleher, Camacho, Alexander-Arnold.
