There was no sign of Granit Xhaka or Laurent Koscielny in full training today as Arsenal undertook their final preparations ahead of Sunday’s trip to Everton.
Xhaka missed last Monday night’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle United with a groin injury that he picked up while playing for Switzerland during the international break last month.
Unai Emery confirmed at his press conference on Friday that Xhaka was still unable to return to full training and would be assessed at London Colney on Saturday before a decision was made over his fitness.
The photos published from today’s training session shows Xhaka doing individual work with the physio away from the main squad so he was unable to resume full training meaning he’s highly unlikely to feature against Everton.
Koscielny also missed the win over Newcastle due to a foot injury and there was no sign of him in the training photos from today either. The centre-back is being carefully managed due to his troublesome Achilles injury so the Arsenal medical team won’t take any chances with him.
If the Frenchman doesn’t make the trip to Goodison Park tomorrow then Shkodran Mustafi should continue alongside Sokratis and Nacho Monreal in the back three.
There was some good news for Arsenal as Aaron Ramsey was in full training today so he should be fit to face Everton after recovering from a minor groin problem that forced him off against Newcastle.
Lucas Torreira trained with the first team today but he won’t be available tomorrow as he’ll serve the final match of his three-game suspension. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is pushing for a recall after being named on the bench last time out due to a fever.
