Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is at Carrington undergoing the second part of his medical today ahead of a £45m move to Manchester United, according to reports.
Ole Gunner Solskjaer has identified Wan-Bissaka as the man to strengthen his options at right-back with Antonio Valencia leaving the club, Ashley Young about to turn 34 and Diogo Dalot still considered too raw to be a regular starter.
After weeks of negotiations, United finally found a breakthrough and reached an agreement with Palace that will see them pay £45m up front with a further £5m coming in add-ons if certain conditions are met. [Source: Evening Standard]
With a fee agreed, things moved swiftly and Sky Sports claim Wan-Bissaka flew to Manchester on Wednesday to complete the first part of his medical and agree terms over his contract before the 21-year-old was spotted staying at the Lowry Hotel last night.
Earlier this morning, Sky Sports then posted an update in their transfer centre [at 9.03am] saying Wan-Bissaka had left his hotel en route to United’s Carrington training base to complete the second part of his medical.
The Evening Standard says the right-back is now undergoing his medical examinations and could be unveiled as Man Utd’s second major summer signing today following the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea.
Solskjaer is determined to get most of his summer business done early and have players on board before the majority of the squad return to start pre-season training on Monday. Wan-Bissaka is set to complete his move to Old Trafford imminently but the defender is then expected to head off on holiday having recently competed for England at the Under-21 European Championships.
