Tottenham confirm fresh injury blow meaning Poch could be without 5 men vs Arsenal
Tottenham have confirmed a fresh injury blow meaning Mauricio Pochettino could be without five players for the clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Arsenal in the North London Derby at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Spurs have issued a full team news and injury update on TottenhamHotspur.com including the latest on the fitness of Kyle Walker-Peters, Eric Dier, Tanguy Ndombele, Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon.
The official Spurs website have confirmed that Walker-Peters has been ruled out of the trip to Arsenal due to a hamstring injury that the right-back sustained during the shock defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.
Foyth is still on the sidelines as he continues to recover from an ankle problem that’s plagued him all season so Tottenham are facing something of a crisis at right-back as Dier is also a doubt to face Arsenal due to a hip complaint. The 25-year-old will be assessed at training but Mauricio Pochettino may be forced to bring Serge Aurier in from the cold to start at right-back if Dier is ruled out.
The report has also confirmed that summer signing Ndombele is certain to miss the trip across north London as the French international is ruled out with a thigh injury which kept him out of the Newcastle game last weekend.
Sessegnon is undergoing the latter stages of his rehabilitation following a hamstring injury that he’s been carrying since joining Tottenham from Fulham and he’s hoping to resume full training early next month.
But for now Sessegnon remains on the sidelines meaning Pochettino would be without five players for the huge clash with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon if Dier fails to prove his fitness over the next 24 hours.
Tottenham head into the game sitting seventh in the Premier League table – two points behind third-placed Arsenal – so Pochettino will be desperate to get back to winning ways and climb above their rivals with victory at the Emirates.
