Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways when they take on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

United were held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday night – their second consecutive 1-1 home draw and their third game without a win – and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided some team news after the game.

The Red Devils have been without the services of Anthony Martial for their last five matches after he sustained a hamstring injury last month and Solskjaer has confirmed the Frenchman will once again miss out on Thursday night.

Solskjaer says Martial has a chance to be fit for Sunday’s trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United, otherwise, they’ll have to wait until after the international break before he’ll be back in contention.

Speaking after the draw with Arsenal, Solskjaer told ManUtd.com:

“Maybe the weekend [against Newcastle United, Martial will be back] but if not, after the weekend. Definitely not Thursday,”

Aaron Wan-Bissaka missed the game last night due to a bout of tonsillitis so he remains a doubt for the trip to Holland on Thursday night while Phil Jones is expected to remain on the sidelines with a knock that he sustained last week.

However, ManUtd.com suggests that Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes could return to the squad on Thursday after missing the last two games with injuries but Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah remain on the sidelines.

Marcus Rashford made his return to action last night after overcoming a groin injury while Paul Pogba was passed fit despite aggravating an ankle problem against Rochdale in the League Cup last week.

It remains to be seen whether either player will start against AZ as Solskjaer is expected to rotate his squad in the Europa League having made nine changes for the 1-0 win over Astana in their Group stage opener.
