TRANSFER TALK: Gunners eye £30m German pair
By Fab4.
Here is the latest batch of Arsenal transfer news doing the rounds today. From these reports it seems Arsene Wenger is targeting two of Germany’s World Cup squad, one who has been a star player and one who is yet to make an appearance.
Arsenal ready £20m Ozil bid
Arsenal are ready to pay £20m for German playmaker Mesut Ozil, according to the Daily Star. Arsene Wenger has been keeping an eye on Ozil for months and the report suggests he will make his move should Cesc Fabregas move to Barcelona.
The 21-year-old only has one year left on his contract with current club Werder Bremen and expressed his desire to play in the premier league only last week. Bremen will play in the Champions League next season but Ozil has refused to sign a contract extension and knows he can get substantially more than his current £20,000pw wage in England.
Arsenal in talks with Tasci
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are in talks with Stuttgart about signing defender Serdar Tasci. Tottenham are also interested in the 23-year-old German international, who is valued at around £10m, but Arsene Wenger has stolen a march on his rivals.
Stuttgart are already looking for a replacement for Tasci as talks are progressing well and they are confident a deal will be struck.
