Swansea vs Liverpool: Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Liverpool take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday. Here is a preview article with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score for the big game.
Liverpool will look to round off a disappointing Premier League season on a positive note on Sunday, when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
The Reds head into the game off the back of an impressive 4-1 hammering of Champions League finalists Chelsea at Anfield in midweek, and Kenny Dalglish will be looking for a similar performance from his players on Sunday.
A win for Liverpool could see then leapfrog local rivals Everton into seventh place, with David Moyes men playing top-four chasing Newcastle at Goodison Park.
The hosts will also be hoping to end the season on a positive note after a hugely successful season back in the big time. Despite winning just one of their last eight games, the Swans comfortably secured their top-flight status for another year after a string of impressive displays this season.
Team news
Brendan Rodgers goes into the game with no fresh injury concerns. Both Leon Britton and Angel Rangel made successful returns from injury last week so are fit to play. Kemy Agustien and Ferrie Bodde remain on the sidelines.
Defender Steven Caulker will play in his final match before returning to Tottenham after his loan spell.
Kenny Dalglish is sweating on the fitness of captain Steven Gerrard, who missed the win over Chelsea with a back complaint, as well as Jose Enrique who also missed that game through injury.
Striker Andy Carroll is likely to be given another chance to impress after an excellent display versus the Blues, as the Geordie pushes for a place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the up-coming European Championships.
Liverpool will continue to be without long-term injury victims Charlie Adam and Lucas Leiva, while Dirk Kuyt could play his last game for the club, with the Dutchman expected to leave this summer.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Swansea have been superb at the Liberty all season and have made life difficult for all the big-guns who have made the trip to Wales, and we expect Liverpool to be no exception this Sunday. An entertaining season finale for both sides. Swansea 2-2 Liverpool.
