Transfer News: City Make £13m Bid For Unsettled Agger
Manchester City have lodged a £13m bid for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, who has now told boss Brendan Rodgers he want’s to leave Anfield this summer.
With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Man City move for Daniel Agger.
Manchester City have made a £13m bid for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to the Mirror.
The report claims the Premier League champions submitted the offer last week, but the Reds immediately rejected the bid out-of-hand insisting the defender wasn’t for sale.
However, it seems that City’s interest has done enough to unsettle Agger, with the Mirror reporting that the 27-year-old has now told boss Brendan Rodgers he wants out of Anfield this summer.
Liverpool now face a huge task in trying to keep hold of the Danish international, with Real Madrid and Barcelona both set to rival Man City for his signature.
Despite committing his future to the club eariler in the summer, the Mirror suggest Agger will tell Rodgers in the next two weeks whether he would prefer a move to La Liga or City, but Roberto Mancini is ready to increase his offer and is confident he can persuade the centre back to move to the Etihad Stadium.
In order to make room for Agger, Mancini is set to sell Kolo Toure with Bursaspor and Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal both keen on the Ivory Coast international.
