With the summer transfer window in full swing, Football Talk will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer news throughout the summer. Today, Barca close in on Alex Song.
Arsenal midfielder Alex Song is set for a £15m move to Spanish giants Barcelona, according to the Independent.
Barca vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu flew into London on Tuesday to hold formal discussions with Gunners officials in order to try and thrash out a deal.
The Independent claim Bartomeu returned to Barcelona late last night confident he had done enough to seal a deal, which could be completed by this weekend.
The 24-year-old now looks likely to be reunited with former Gunner Cesc Fabregas, who joined the Catalans 12 months ago. Barca play Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup next Thursday, but are hopeful they will have added Song to their ranks before this weekends game with Real Sociedad.
Arsene Wenger seems open to the idea of cashing in on the Cameroon midfielder, despite him still being under a long-term contract with Arsenal.

But it looks like Song is set to join Robin van Persie out the door at the Emirates this summer, which will leave Wenger without two of his more senior and experienced members of his squad heading into next season.
It’s expected that once Song completes his move to Barca, Wenger will step up his efforts to sign Rennes enforcer Yann M’Vila.
