Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey was in action for his nation on Monday night as the England Under-21’s thrashed Austria Under-21’s 4-0.
Shelvey opened the scoring shortly before half-time when he smashed home a free kick from the edge of the area after the visitors goalkeeper Richard Strebinger was sent off for handling outside the box. Further second-half goals from Josh McEachran (pen), Marvin Sordell and Connor Wickham sealed a comfortable win for Stuart Pearce’s men.
