Spurs Team News & Injury Update: Latest On Dawson, Lennon & Kaboul
Tottenham Hotspur play Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Here’s a team news and injury update with the latest on Dawson, Lennon and Kaboul.
Premier League action returns this weekend following the two week international break and Tottenham Hotspur play League Cup winners Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas has been giving his press conference on Thursday ahead of the game and gave TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update including the latest on Michael Dawson, Aaron Lennon and Younes Kaboul.
AVB gave some positive news on Dawson after the defender was forced off at half-time during the 1-0 defeat to Fulham back on March 17th. It was later revealed the centre-back had a minor muscle injury but it was enough to force him out of England’s World Cup double-header with San Marino and Montenegro but he’s back in contention to play this weekend after coming through training on Thursday.
Winger Lennon missed the Fulham defeat through injury and was also ruled out of action for England, but he too has trained this week and will be assessed prior to the trip to Wales.
One player who’s yet to feature this season in Kaboul with the defender missing the entire season with a knee injury but it seems he’s edging closer to making a first team comeback after Villas-Boas confirmed he’s back training with the squad. Here’s what the Spurs boss told the clubs official website:
“Michael trained fully today with the team and gave a positive response,” reported Andre after training on Thursday.
“Aaron trained fully with the team for the last two days, so they are in contention to come back. Aaron has been excellent for us and it’s good to have him back.”
“Younes has trained with the team, so let’s see how he reacts,”
