[Video Goals] Arsenal 4-1 Reading: Gervinho Shines As Gunners Stroll Past Royals

By on March 30, 2013

Arsenal strolled past a poor Reading side 4-1 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon with winger Gervinho putting in a surprisingly efficient performance.

The Ivorian gave Arsenal an early lead when he was on hand to tap home a scuffed Cazorla shot in the 10th minute before laying off for the Spaniard to curl home a superb second shortly after half time. Gervinho was at it again as he ran the length of the field to set up Giroud for 3-0 but the visitors took advantage of some poor defending from Monreal with Robson-Kanu pulling one back from a rare attack. However, sub Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain won a penalty soon after and Mikel Arteta made no mistake from the spot for 4-1.

The win moves us to within two points of fourth-place Chelsea, who lost 2-1 against Southampton, while Tottenham move to third after a 2-1 win at Swansea. Watch the goals from Arsenal’s win here:
