Tottenham clung on to claim a priceless 2-1 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon with Gareth Bale the hero once again.

The visitors took an early lead through defender Jan Vertonghen before the in-form Gareth Bale made it 2-0 with another stunning strike from the edge of the box. That goal turned out to be the winner as Swansea could only pull one back in the second half, when Michu rose high to head home in off the post for 2-1.

Spurs hung on and move above Chelsea who lost 2-1 at Southampton, while fifth-place Arsenal keep pace after beating Reading 4-1 at the Emirates.
