Agent: Gonzalo Higuain Won’t Be Joining Napoli
The agent of Gonzalo Higuain has claimed Real Madrid will do all they can to persuade him to remain at the Bernabeu but the striker won’t be joining Napoli.
With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Gonzalo Higuain doesn’t look likely to join Napoli.
The agent of Arsenal and Chelsea target Gonzalo Higuain has claimed Real Madrid will do all they can to persuade him to remain at the Bernabeu but the striker won’t be joining Napoli this summer, according to the Metro.
The Argentinean has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks with a £23m switch thought to have been close to completion two weeks ago before Real Madrid upped the asking price at the last minute.
Higuain has also been linked with a move to Chelsea after the striker was quoted recently as saying that new boss Jose Mourinho “wanted him” at Stamford Bridge this summer, while a switch to Italian outfit Napoli has also been mooted after the clubs president confirmed the 25-year-old was one of the players they were considering as a replacement for Edinson Cavani.
However, the players agent Enzo Bronzetti has revealed that Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is ready to try and convince the striker to remain in the Spanish capital, but if he does leave he won’t be joining Napoli.
‘Carlo Ancelotti will do everything possible to convince Higuain to stay put,’
‘Could he join Napoli? I think that’s out of the question too – I don’t think that they will be able to sign him.’ Bronzetti is quoted as saying by the Metro
Higuain is currently back training with the rest of the Madrid squad and he’s expected to hold further talks with Ancelotti in the coming days. His future appears to have been put on hold with Arsenal off chasing Luis Suarez and Chelsea concentrating their efforts on Wayne Rooney, and if the London duo aren’t careful they could up up missing out entirely if Higuain decides to stay with Madrid and Liverpool and Man Utd refuse to sell.
