Europa League Draw: Tottenham Face Trip To Georgia
The draw for the of the Europe League play-off’s has taken place on Friday and Spurs will face Georgian outfit Dinamo Tbilisi for a place in the group stages.
The draw for the of the Europe League play-off’s has taken place on Friday afternoon and Tottenham and Swansea have learned their fate.
After spending much of the season in the top-four, Spurs were pipped to fourth place by arch rivals Arsenal who secured a place in the Champions League with a 1-0 win at Newcastle on the final day of last season to cast Andre Villas-Boas’ side into the Europa League.
The north Londoners must now navigate a two-legged play-off to ensure safe passage to the group stages and have been draw to play Dinamo Tbilisi. The first leg will be in Georgia at the 54,500 capacity Dinamo Arena on the 22nd August before the return leg a week later at White Hart Lane.
League Cup winners Swansea will face Petrolul Ploiesti with the first leg at home before the return leg in Romania the following week. Wigan go straight into the group stages after winning the FA Cup.
